Metro Area Peace Vigils

Ongoing Weekly Vigils for Peace

Please Attend!

Arvada/Westminster

Saturdays: Noon - 1 PM. Intersection of Wadsworth Blvd. and 52nd Ave. Sponsored by the Arvada Peace and Justice Commission. Signs provided or bring your own.

Saturdays: 11:00 AM - Noon. Intersection of 92nd Ave. and Sheridan. Sponsored by the North Metro Peace Vigil. Please park by Wild Oats. Signs provided or bring your own.

Denver

Wednesdays: 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM. In front of the State Capitol (east side of Lincoln, just south of Colfax). Sponsored by the Buddhist Peace Fellowship. Silent vigil, bring cushion if you wish to meditate, non-meditators welcome and may bring signs.

Thursdays: 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM. At the northwest corner of Colfax and 15th St. (one block west of Broadway). Sponsored by Women in Black; silent vigil, please wear black, no signs.

Saturdays: 1 PM - 2 PM. Intersection of First and University (near Whole foods). Signs provided or bring your own.

Sundays: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Intersection of 50th and Lowell.

Lakewood

Saturdays: 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM. Denver West/Colorado Mills. No signs. Just wear black and stand in silence for peace.

Boulder

Sundays: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Intersection of Broadway and Pearl. Sponsored by Boulder Meeting of Friends. Silent vigil, no signs.

Wednesdays: 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM. Intersection of Broadway and Canyon Blvd. Sponsored by Women in Black. Silent vigil, please wear black; no signs.

The Adams/JeffCo Greens will have a table at the 52nd and Wadsworth Colorado Citizens for Peace Vigil commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the vigil's beginning. It has been two years already and it looks like Iran may be next!

The table will be part of the Green Party's efforts to get the word about what we stand for out to the community. Our hours for tabling will be from 12:00 pm to 1:30-2:00 pm depending on the weather and how many people are at the vigil. Many people are expected to show up at this anniversary vigil; anywhere from 40 to 50 people may be in attendance. A nice event for Arvada and for the CCFP.

Our Green table will have the Green Pages, buttons, pamphlets, voter registration forms and candy. Hopefully, there will be a strong Green presence at this vigil on Saturday, February 24th.
